VMware Certification Tracks and Levels Explained

I have seen everybody wants to know VMware Certification Tracks and Levels. Objective of this post is to share some insights about the same.
Points to Remember :-
1. VMware Certification Path has Five Tracks.
2. Where some of the Tracks have Four Levels
3. Only Level-2 comes with validity of 2 Years.
4. Level -1 is Optional. It means you can start directly from Level-2.
5. For VCIX, in most of tracks one has to pass two exams where one is Design and another is Deploy except Network Virtualization Track.
6. Where some of these exams are either Proctored and some are Non-Proctored. For writing Proctored exams, visit Pearson testing center and for writing Non-Proctored exams, no need to visit testing center.

VCA = VMware Certified Associate
VCP = VMware Certified Professional
VCAP = VMware Certified Advanced Professional
VCIX = VMware Certified Implementation Expert
VCDX = VMware Certified Design Expert

Convert Streched vSAN Cluster to Standard vSAN Cluster

Refer this Link:-
https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.7/com.vmware.vsphere.virtualsan.doc/GUID-1D3FE3B4-1BFE-4B0E-BDC3-3D388D2BEF61.html

Considerations while Adding or Removing Disks from VSAN Cluster when Deduplication and Compression is Enabled

  1. You can add a capacity disk to a disk group with enabled deduplication and compression. However, for more efficient deduplication and compression, instead of adding capacity disks, create a new disk group to increase cluster storage capacity.
  2. When you remove a disk form a cache tier, the entire disk group is removed. Removing a cache tier disk when deduplication and compression is enabled triggers data evacuation.
  3. Deduplication and compression is implemented at a disk group level. You cannot remove a capacity disk from the cluster with enabled deduplication and compression. You must remove the entire disk group.
  4. If a capacity disk fails, the entire disk group becomes unavailable. To resolve this issue, identify and replace the failing component immediately. When removing the failed disk group, use the No Data Migration option.
