Due to smart card unavailability user was enable to login. I am going to share the procedure used by me to fix this issue (Where the requirement was to disable smart card authentication and enable password based authentication)<br /></p><p>1. Login to vCenter Server through SSH client</p><p>2. Now execute this command to enable password based authentication<br /></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: whitesmoke; color: #333333; display: inline; float: none; font-family: monospace; font-size: 13px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: pre; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">sso-config.sh -set_authn_policy -pwdAuthn true -t </span><var class="keyword varname" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: whitesmoke; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: monospace; font-size: 13px; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: pre; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">tenant_name</var></p><p><span style="color: #cc0000;"><var class="keyword varname" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: whitesmoke; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: monospace; font-size: 13px; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: left; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: pre; word-spacing: 0px;"><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: whitesmoke; display: inline; float: none; font-family: monospace; font-size: 13px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: left; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: pre; word-spacing: 0px;">sso-config.sh -set_authn_policy -pwdAuthn true -t </span>vsphere.local </var></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKPAkjrDGrbLlGEy18W2ZMyJxY8MmAOo8U67sggbRVm-T__5lBLIrPE71kx17gB3M69ZdSD_iNpr1xmFM9dCpHf9dDjXVXDQm3yrTuZHALPjr-tbgl0wvAq4KxHXcy9EoAzRasuAL9vu7zSKC2euEDhixyPzz01V5P7hX5bOUdT5tcwWq8_etH-zwlcQ/s2321/screen1.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="814" data-original-width="2321" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKPAkjrDGrbLlGEy18W2ZMyJxY8MmAOo8U67sggbRVm-T__5lBLIrPE71kx17gB3M69ZdSD_iNpr1xmFM9dCpHf9dDjXVXDQm3yrTuZHALPjr-tbgl0wvAq4KxHXcy9EoAzRasuAL9vu7zSKC2euEDhixyPzz01V5P7hX5bOUdT5tcwWq8_etH-zwlcQ/w640-h224/screen1.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>If you want to know more about sso-config.sh command then refer this <a href="https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/67304" target="_blank">KB</a></p><p>Once this command is successfully completed then it will enable username and password based authentication. </p><p>3.
