You can assign AppStacks to AD user- or computer-based objects, such as users, computers, groups, and OUs. When assigning AppStacks to RDSH servers, only computer-based assignments are supported. For this use case, we recommend assigning AppStacks to OUs, because it streamlines the assignment process for large RDSH farms. If you are creating instant-clone farms with VMware Horizon, an OU assignment is required.

Horizon View, VMware App Volumes and VMware UEM Licenses
Each App Volumes edition is available in two license models:
Per Named User: For virtual environments with staff
that need dedicated access to a virtual machine throughout the day.
Per Concurrent Connection: For virtual environments
with a high number of shift workers where machines are shared between workers
throughout the day (e.g. students, shift workers).
User Environment Manager is licensed on a named user/ device
or concurrent connection basis.
Horizon provides two licensing usage models, one for named users and one for concurrent users. Horizon counts the named users and concurrent users in your environment, regardless of your product license edition or usage model agreement.
