Do i need UPLINK for the communication between two different VMs connected on the Same vSwitch but different portgroups?

I am always getting this question in my sessions:-
"Do i need UPLINK for the communication between two different VMs connected on the Same vSwitch but different portgroups but no VLAN is configured at the portgroup level either both the VMs Portgroup VLAN is same ?"
then i thought i should write a blog post for this with some proof of concept with screenshots. So here are the details of this test environment:-

Test Environment:-
ESXi Host = esxi01.vclass.local
VM's = Win01a, Win02a
IP Addresses:-
Win01a = 10.0.0.1
Win02a = 10.0.0.2
vSwitch = vSwitch5
Porgroups:-
Sales = Win01a
Marketing = Win02a

So It's Proved now no uplink is needed when two vm's from two different porgroups wants to communicate with each other if they are the part of same vlan. Uplink is needed only when when both the portgroups are the part of different vlan's.
