vmware.log file rotation replaced with log throttling

It's true, log rotation has been replaced with some kind of log throttling. I ran into a similar issue with servers where the logfiles keep growing (a few GB! within a month or so) until the VM is either power cycled or vMotioned.

Reason for taking this decision:-
"... it was an intentional decision to disable log rotation specifically for vmware.log: It appears there are too many tools available which don't expect or understand VM log rotation, so we are no longer supporting rotation of VM logs. ...

We currently throttle vmware.log with a bandwidth/rate limit, and we expect that that limit will be sufficient for even the most extreme VMs with extreme uptimes.
